A dark place engulfed me when deciding to try something different. The status quo would have quickly led me out of this world. So when I started to write down things I was grateful for, it was a stretch of the imagination at first.
Now, after so much time, using my imagination, I’ve discovered, is the best part of my personal gratitude practice. How inventive can I be to appreciate something entirely new each time.
Play with it to see how gratefulness can be creative.
Some easy methods to start a gratitude practice of your own.
Gratitude Journaling: Keep a daily or weekly journal to write down three to five things you are grateful for. I do four, that’s why I call my journals #Grateful4. Be sure to use different ones each time.
Mindful Moments: Take a few minutes each day to reflect quietly on what you are grateful for, either through meditation or quiet contemplation.
Gratitude Walks: Walking and focusing on the things you are grateful for in the surroundings, such as nature, kind interactions, or simply the ability to enjoy the fresh air.
